R. H. McCoy, Vice President of B.F. Lumber Co., stated that the night shift at the planing mill has been shut down due to fallen offers for timber in the past few weeks. Mr. McCoy states that in the future his company will not hire members of the I.W.W., wanting nothing to do with an organization that is determined to cripple production by failing to do anything like an honest day’s work. Mr. Hornby, manager of the Dover Mill, stated that a few years ago it was considered that an average lumberman should produce not less than 1,000 feet of lumber daily while now only 250 feet are produced per man and the wages have increased 100 percent.

To fund this campaign, there will be a ten day sale of Red Cross seals beginning Dec. 1. It was pointed out that this disease kills more people per year than the U.S. lost in the war just ended.
