Toilet cleaning tip

I know you come here looking for something new to try for dinner, but occasionally I find a household hint I just have to share.

I know many of you in this area have that awful brown iron ring in your toilet tank. Two years ago I rid myself of that ring by buying new toilets. Well, that only lasted a few months and there they were again. I struggled with cleaner after cleaner. I scrubbed and scrubbed. There it was, permanent. Then I tried something I saw on Facebook of all places: WD-40, and you can use the generic version, which is what I used.

So here’s the procedure if you’re going to use WD-40 for this project, follow these steps. Squirt a few shots of WD-40 into the toilet bowl, let sit for a few moments, then use your toilet brush. Then leave it a few more minutes. The rust and sediment stains will immediately slide off the toilet bowl. One flush later … you’ll have a clean, sparkling toilet tank.

Didn’t get it all? Use a few more shots to get the stubborn rust marks. Scrub scrub scrub. Flush. Clean toilet bowl. I then used a little cleanser to get the WD40 out of the bowl.
