BONNERS FERRY — The lady Badgers fought hard against Sandpoint on Tuesday, Sept. 3, but ended up with a loss, falling 25-19, 25-10 and 25-17.

Reese Lane had 9 kills during the game, while Grace Villelli had 30 set assists. Sydney Nelson had one ace and Avery Pluid had two blocks.

“The girls play very well and made Sandpoint earn all their points,” said Badger coach Kenra Maas.

Also last week, the Badgers traveled to Clark Fork and lost a tough, five-set battle with the Wampus Cats.

Clark Fork prevailed 16-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 15-9 on Thursday, Sept. 5. It gave the Wampus Cats a split with 3A Intermountain League schools, as they lost a prior match in five sets to Priest River.

“Our two games against bigger schools gave us more competition and harder teams (than 1A schools),” Clark Fork coach Michelle Valliere said. “I’m happy we took Priest River to five and Bonners Ferry to five (sets).”

The lady Badgers travel tonight, Sept. 12, to Kellogg High School and face the Wildcats at 7 p.m.
