Christine Lott

Christy was born Christine Marie Kucera in Sun Valley, Idaho, on July 18, 1970. She was taken home by her adoptive parents, Len and Lucille Kucera, 10 days later. As she was born prematurely, she was no bigger than a National Geographic Magazine. Though she always remained petite, she soon thrived in her environment.

In 1971 the young family moved from Southern Idaho back to Leonard’s native home of Boundary County. With her sisters, one older and one younger, Christy grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Moyie Springs on the Montana side of the bridge. There, with her sisters, she caught frogs and turtles, took care of baby calves, played amongst the big Cedar and the creeks, made snow forts in the winter and hunted for honeysuckles and wild strawberries in the summers.

She attended Evergreen and Valley View Elementary schools as well as Bonners Ferry High School but graduated from Sonora Union High School in California in 1989. In Sonora, she met her first husband, Ray Flynn. They subsequently had two sons, Ray Jr. and Sean.

In 1991 Christy was in a horrific car accident by the Moyie Store and her spine was broken in two places. Despite this, she survived and went on to give birth to her youngest son Lucas.

In 1994 she married Stephen Lott. They lived in many places in Eastern Washington and North Idaho over the next nine years while Stephen looked for permanent work.

They finally landed outside of Priest River where they moved their home and Christy was in the process of turning into a cozy little place for her family. She was a wonderful mother, a good daughter, a loyal sister, a loving aunt and the best person to have as a friend. She loved coffee, country music and old westerns. She almost always had more than one pet and was a whisperer of animals. She was a natural artist like her Grandma Maxine and had a great green thumb. She was so much more … she is so very missed.

On March 25, 2004, Christy disappeared.

In the spring of 2016 her remains were found by shed hunters.

Christy lives on through the legacy of her sons and grandchildren: Her oldest son Ray (Tiffany) Flynn of California and their children Lillian (Lilly’s mom D’Nay), Keyona, Justin, and step grandchildren Madilynn and Brayden; Christy’s middle son Sean (Brittany) Flynn of Arizona and their son Nathaniel; and Christy’s youngest son Lucas Lott, USAF, Germany.

She is also survived by her parents Leonard and Lucille Kucera, her sisters Angela (Donny) Baker and Wendy Kucera all of Boundary County, Idaho, and her nephews Adam Geggatt of Boise, Idaho and Eric Geggatt of Arlington, Mass., as well as loving cousins, aunts and uncles, the Howes, the Olsons and the Hills. She also leaves behind many friends as she touched so many lives throughout the years.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry.
