BONNERS FERRY — There is a new Badger in town, strutting his stuff on the new School Resource Officer patrol vehicle.

The new patrol vehicle, assigned to Bonners Ferry Police Corporal Travis Stolley, the School Resource Officer (SRO), in one that was retired from the Idaho State Police. Bonners Ferry Police Chief Brian Zimmerman picked it up from Boise, and it now sports the Badger logos on the sides and back.

“We are trying to come up with something that gives the school some ownership to the School Resource Officer position,” said Stolley. “We have been fluctuating School Resource Officers the last couple of years and we haven’t always had a vehicle.”

The SRO vehicle will provide a visual presence, not only at the schools, but in events around town, and will be easily identifiable by students.

“We are looking for local ownership at the high school and wanted to identify with the students with the Badger,” said Zimmerman.
