Presentation to address teen substance abuse

Kaniksu Health Services will be hosting a FREE community presentation for adults on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the Bonners Ferry High School gym, 6485 Tamarack Lane, Bonners Ferry. The event is free for the community and dinner will be provided.

The presentation will focus on adolescent brain development, the health risks of marijuana, opioid and other substances, the effects of substances on the brain, addiction as a brain disease, adolescent risk and protective factors, how to recognize the signs of abuse, and how to prevent adolescent substance abuse including the parents’ role in discussing substance abuse prevention with their children. Adults only, please.
