To introduce herself to Herald readers, Wright answered the following questions:
What drew you to this job?
I absolutely love working with my community, that is my No. 1 reason that I love working in local advertising. I also enjoy finding solutions. Marketing is creating solutions to help businesses. So luckily, with this job I get the best of both of those worlds.
What is your favorite thing about working in this community?
Working with the Boundary County community is close to my heart because it is my community. I live here and my kids go to school here. Also, working with people has always been my favorite part. I love visiting everyone, finding out more about what they do and watching their businesses grow.
Tell us about yourself, where you grew up, family, etc.?
I have lived in Northern Idaho most of my life. My teen years were spent in Priest River. When I was 21, I moved to Sandpoint. While working at Litehouse I met my soon to be husband. We got married and he joined the United States Army. We spent four years in Texas and four years in Washington state before returning home to Northern Idaho.
We have five children ranging from nine to 23. For many years I was a stay-at-home mom, writing and publishing fiction books, as well as running my own book promotion company. Once all the kids were in school, I found that going out into the work force was what I wanted to do, since I love people so much.
When you are not working at the Herald, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy reading, writing and being outdoors.
What things from your background do you incorporate into your job?
The fact that I ran my own book marketing business definitely helps with this job. Also, being a local and having grown up in Northern Idaho is something that I like to think helps keep me close to my community. I am fairly creative, which also gives me a fresh outlook as well as an open mind when solving problems for my clients.
What is your ultimate goal when working with local businesses?
My ultimate goal is to help the businesses in my community grow and thrive.
