County to consider Restorium fees

| August 20, 2020 1:00 AM

BONNERS FERRY — A hearing on a proposal to increase room and board fees for new residents at the Boundary County Community Restorium will be held Monday, Aug. 31.

The meeting, which begins at 11 a.m., will be held in the meeting room of the University of Idaho/Boundary County Extension Office, located behind the Boundary County Courthouse at 6447 Kootenai St.

The county has proposed an increase of its room and board fees for new Restorium residents by an amount of 8% over the room and board fees collected the previous year. The purpose of the increase is to help fund the cost of operating the Restorium, county officials said. If approved, the new fees will take effect October 1.

If approved a single occupancy room with private restroom would go from $3,525.16 to $3,807; a single occupancy room with shared restroom would increase from $3,227.87 to $3,486; a double occupancy (half room) would go from $2,424.97 to $2,618 and a double occupancy room would go from $4,849.95 to $5,237.

All citizens are invited to attend the public hearing. A commissioners’ conference call line will be available for those who do not wish to attend the hearing in person. That line can be reached by dialing 1-877-402-9753 and enter the access code — 9099848# — when prompted.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment and to explain the reasons for the proposed increase of Restorium room and board fees.

Any person requiring a special accommodation due to a disability condition should contact the Boundary County Commissioners’ Office at 208-267-7723. This contact should be made at least two days prior to the hearing.
