Edna June Allen

Edna June Allen (born Dewey), 83, passed away Nov. 14, 2020, in Hemet, Calif., of complications related to pulmonary fibrosis.

A celebration of her life and memorial will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020. Services will be held at Bonners Ferry Seventh-day Adventist Church, 513353 U.S. 95, Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Friends and family are encouraged to share memories they have of her during the service. Cards for the family can also be mailed to the church. Edna was born in 1937 to William and Edna Dewey in Shreveport, La. Edna grew up with two sisters, Betty Alday and Dorothy Pinner.

Edna enjoyed her occupation at Loma Linda University Medical Center as a central service technician where she retired after 20-plus years and received special recognition for dedicated years of service. She was a resident of Bonners Ferry from 1999-2017 before returning to California.

In her younger years she was a good mother and liked to roller skate, taking her kids roller skating every week. She loved jigsaw puzzles. She was patient, kind, loving, tender hearted and had a good sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and William Dewey; her ex-husband, Gary Allen; her sister, Betty Alday; and her son, Brent Allen.

Her surviving relatives are her three children, Gray Allen, Jackie Robinson, and DJ Dewey; her sister, Dorothy Pinner; her grandkids, Josias Robinson IV, Brandi Robinson, Jessica Spiller, and Robby Kelley; her great-grandkids, Josias Robinson V, Shaun Stephens, Lexie Stephens, Brent Spiller and Willow Spiller.
