100 Years Ago
Condinos Gust Lazos, a well-known logging contractor of this district, was shot and instantly killed about 11 o’clock Christmas morning at the railroad station in Naples by William Bell, section foreman for the Spokane International Railroad Co. It seems that Bell and Lazos had an argument about the moving of some skidways at the S.I. siding known as Brown’s spur.
The annual basketball game between the Bonners Ferry High School basketball team and the B.F.H.S. alumni team will be played this evening at the high school gym.
Scores of needy families and a hundred or more children were made happy this Christmas through the efforts of the Christmas committee of the Elk Lodge and the executive committee of the Boundary County Red Cross Chapter.

The Bonners Ferry Badgers were never pluckier than when they beat the Post Falls Trojans to clinch their 5-0 record after Tuesday’s clash on the basketball court.
Over 800 children attended the Christmas movie, “80 Steps to Jonah” at the Rex Theater. The show was sponsored by the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce. Santa was on hand with a bag full of candy treats.
The Boundary County Cattlemen’s and the Cowbells Associations have elected Bob and Hollyce Neumeyer, of the Jaynbee Ranch, to lead their respective groups.

The Copeland Hall has received $5,000 from Idaho Heritage Trust for renovation.
Two cars on a southbound BNSF train derailed when one car lost a set of wheel in the Naples area Thursday night.
The Bonners Ferry High School Leadership Class collected winter items for two weeks for the local food bank.
