North Bench Fire postpones annual meeting
BONNERS FERRY — North Bench Volunteer Fire District's annual meeting has been rescheduled to when conditions improve and are deemed safe for large outdoor gatherings, instead of Dec. 14, 2020.
According to the news release, Idaho State Gov. Brad Little issued a “stay at home order” in hopes of curving the rapid increase in COVID-19 infections in Idaho.
The order prohibits public events where more than 10 people are in attendance and also imposes other limitations where gatherings are allowed.
“On Dec. 14, 2020, the board of directors of North Bench Fire District agreed to postpone the annual meeting to be held on Jan. 25.”
According to Fred Nystrom, the Jan. 25 date is a placeholder, and the real date is to be determined based on the restrictions imposed by the state and health district. North Bench Fire District is waiting for the weather to permit such a gathering outdoors.
According to the news release, the hope is when conditions improve, and it is deemed safe to allow large gatherings, the board will reschedule and give due and timely notice.
NBVFD President Fred Nystrom wrote, “The public’s patience and understanding are deeply appreciated by the board of directors as we wait together for conditions to improve.”
Correction: The article has been updated to reflect that there is no official meeting date scheduled but a placeholder date instead.
