Boundary county school district certified employee of the month
Aimee Christopherson is Boundary County School District’s Certified Employee of the Month for December. Aimee splits her time and skills as a special education teacher between Naples and Mount Hall Elementary Schools. She has been teaching special education since 2016. Prior to that, she served the school district as a special education paraprofessional for five years. In addition to teaching, Aimee is our school district homeless liaison. Her knowledge of the community resources available is helpful to many students and their families.
Throughout the past decade, Mrs. Christopherson and her husband Stan (also a teacher) have served the Boundary County community as the founders of Hope House. They work endless hours to make sure the people of our town have the things they need to get through challenging financial times.
As if teaching and serving the community wasn’t enough, Aimee and her husband have opened their home to foster children for 14 years. The heart Aimee has for all children is insurmountable. She is a supportive pillar for both our schools and our hometown.
In the school, Mrs. Christopherson can be found working tirelessly on the next best lesson for her students, materials for her support staff, and preparing training and education for the staff of BCSD. Remote learning has added a new level of responsibility to her schedule. Aimee takes the time to meet one-on-one with her students on a regular basis, creating individual plans that support her students’ success, even when they are in a remote learning status. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and cover where needed, no matter how busy she is.
Keeping her occupied in her off time is a brand new granddaughter! Aimee is a glowing and very proud grandma! She deserves all the great things life has in store for her. We appreciate and adore Mrs. Christopherson!
