Forrest Bird Charter School open enrollment starts Feb. 1

| February 6, 2020 12:00 AM

Forrest M. Bird Charter School is excited to announce they are now taking applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Each year the charter school opens a window for enrollment of new students for the coming school year. This year the window is open Feb. 1, and concludes March 19, at 3 p.m.

Maddie Herron, the FBCS front office assistant, said, “This is an exciting time each year. We love meeting prospective families and their students. It is an opportunity for us to answer questions and introduce people to our wonderful school.”

Ms. Herron also stated that during this time families often stop by seeking a tour or just to ask some questions. “Our buildings are rather secluded, so we encourage families to reach out if they need details to find us. I’m always excited to share our school with new people.”

As a tuition-free public charter school, FBCS does not discriminate against any student who would like to apply; however, the school is limited on the number of students who may attend. If more applicants apply than available seats in a given grade, then every student who has applied is entered into a lottery. The lottery will be held March 19, 2020 at 3:30 for the applicants. Currently, 11 openings in the high school, two openings in the eighth grade, 16 openings in the seventh grade and 20 openings in the sixth grade are available.

For more information please call FBCS middle school at 208-255-7771 or FBCS high school at 208-265-9737. Applications can obtained at either building or online at www.forrestbirdcharterschool.org. You are also welcome to call to set up a tour.
