Randall (Randy) Perry Merrifield

Randall (Randy) Perry Merrifield, 55, of Naples, Idaho, was taken from us far too soon on Feb. 4, 2020.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Randy was born in Whitefish, Mont., on July 20, 1964. His family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1967. Randy attended Naples Elementary School and then graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1982.

His working career took him to many locations. He experienced crab fishing in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, logging on the coast of Oregon, sawmill work in multiple North Idaho locations, and his latest job was working for a local moving company. Randy loved the outdoors, gardening, and canning for others. He had a huge heart! He made the best jerky, banana muffins, and homemade horseradish, which he regularly delivered to family and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Sharon Merrifield. He is survived by his children, Melissa Peterson of Lodi, Calif., Cory Merrifield, Cody Merrifield, and Catina (Blaine) Shaishnikoff, all of Dutch Harbor, Alaska; seven grandchildren, Hayden McGlashan, Lineah and Kenan Shaishnikoff, Ian Merrifield, Talon Merrifield, Dylan and Dustin Peterson. He is also survived by his brothers Curt (Misty) Hadley, Sagle, Idaho, Rod (Cathie) Merrifield, West Olive, Mich., Patti Nelson, Naples, Idaho and Tom (Robin) Merrifield of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Randy’s memory may be made to the We Care Fund established for the Merrifield families. This established fund supports unexpected family expenses in times of need. Checks can be made payable to We Care Family Fund c/o Karen French, 1962 Coulter Lane, Clarkston, WA, 99403.
