Firefighters rescue woman after rollover
BONNERS FERRY — On Thursday, Dec. 26, around 10 a.m., a single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 2, around milepost 73.
“A couple from Washington were westbound on Highway 2 when their pickup left the roadway on a curve, going over an embankment and coming to rest on the driver’s side,” said Boundary County Sheriff Dave Kramer.
According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the driver fell asleep while driving.
North Bench Fire, with auto aid from South Boundary Fire, were called to the scene. Upon arriving at the scene, the North Bench firefighters accessed the situation and had enough personnel, so South Boundary was canceled.
The third passenger in the vehicle was the couple’s dog, and all three got out of the accident without injury.
“Neither one of them or their dog were injured,” said Kramer. “The man was able to get out of the pickup and the lady was still inside until extrication arrived and stabilized the pickup and assisted her in getting out.”
