Looking back at 2019 for local businesses

BONNERS FERRY — The past year has had its ups and downs for the business community of Boundary County. While some struggled with the Highway 95 reconstructions, others embraced their dreams and opened their doors for the first time.

Some businesses got a fresh new look, like the Kootenai River Inn, with renovated rooms and a fresh look to the Springs Restaurant. The Northside Bed and Breakfast also saw renovations happen under new ownership.

New restaurants offered locals and tourists another option for their culinary desires, such as the Compass Grille, PHO 9B Noodle Joint, and the Tavern at the Lodge, while other celebrated milestones, like the 15th anniversary for long time restaurant, The Rusty Moose.

New businesses included the Far North Coffee Lodge, Dirty Dog Salon, Quality Car Audio, Sam’s Stop & Shop, Trifekta Tattoo, and more. With more businesses opening their doors for the first time, it showcases the vitality of business in Boundary County, and hints of the future still to come.
