Our concern goes out to BNSF Railroad for the derailed train along the Kootenai River. Rock slides have happened in the river canyon since the rail was constructed by the Great Northern Railway in 1891.

This is the cover for the ticket and receipt purchased on Aug. 8, 1956 by Mrs. Clint Kruegel. Her plans were to travel from Spokane to New Orleans. The ticket cost her $142.45 and would have expired on Feb. 8, 1957. Hope she had a wonderful ride on the rails.
