BONNERS FERRY — The Badger boys fought hard in a tight game against Sandpoint on Tuesday, Jan. 14, eventually falling to the visiting Bulldogs 77-70.

“This was a back and forth game, several lead changes occurred, and was a very high scoring game,” said coach Andy Rice.

Going into the fourth quarter, the Badgers were only down by one point.

“They were 11 of 15 on free throws in the fourth quarter to hold us off,” said Rice. “Sandpoint made some defensive stops against us when they needed to.”

Rice said that the team has been having some trouble taking care of the ball this year and that it was one of their downfalls during the game against Sandpoint.

“I thought we hustled and played hard, we just need to keep working on playing smart to give ourselves more chances to win games,” said Rice.

Braeden Blackmore led Bonners Ferry with 30 points, Ty Bateman scored 11, Ridge Williams tallied 8, and Hayden Stockton added 7.

The Badgers host the Jaguars of Genesis Prep this Friday night, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. in a rescheduled game due to a snow cancellation from the week before.
