TASK FORCE: It stands against hatred, racism

Newcomers to Boundary County might not know Steve Tanner’s long history with letters to the editor. You could always count on his letters spewing venom every school levy, accusing parents who send their children to public school and their teachers as evil, at war with the principles our country was founded upon, anti-God, with an agenda of lies. And it continues.

Steve, it’s sad you feel so emboldened to make such broad, false and ugly accusations and assumptions.

As for the Boundary Co Human Rights Task Force, it was founded in the mid-1980s at the request of the Boundary County Commissioners to stand against hatred and racism. The principles and mission have never changed.

The task force is founded upon the self-evident truth that all people are created equal. The organization has no religious or political affiliations. It is not a liberal or conservative group, does not have a platform on abortion or is anti-God. It is a group made up of individuals with their own personal views on these and other issues who work together with the common purpose to promote equality.

Imagine, a group of people with varying viewpoints on a number of issues can still work together peacefully in pursuit of fulfilling the principles underwritten in the Declaration of Independence, the Idaho State Constitution, the United States Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
