Boundary County 4-H Horse Leaders host show

The Boundary County 4-H Horse Leaders put on their Mid-Summer Horse Show on July 15-16 at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. Judges were Tiffany Corson and Nicole Dunn.

Fourteen local youth, ranging from 10 to 17 years old, participated in showmanship, western classes, English classes, trail competition and gaming events. Points earned at the show and the Boundary County Fair show will determine an overall horse champion. The community is invited to attend the fair show on Aug. 10 to cheer on these athletes.

Showmanship grand champion ribbons were awarded to Myia Anderson, Annabeth Comer, and Kyalynn Comer. Bareback equitation grand champion ribbons were awarded to A. Comer, Avalon Thiel, and Addy Heigel.

Stock seat equitation grand champion ribbons were awarded to A. Comer, A. Thiel, and Evellyhn Stuber. Western pleasure grand champion ribbons were awarded to K. Comer, Sierra Petesch, and Brooke Petesch). Trail grand champion ribbons were awarded to A. Thiel, and A. Comer. A “hunter hack” grand champion ribbon was awarded to S. Petesch. “Hunt seat over fences” grand champion ribbons were awarded to M. Anderson and B. Petesch, hunt seat pleasure grand champion ribbons were awarded to S. Petesch, and A. Heigel, and hunt seat equitation grand champion ribbons were awarded to S. Petesch, and B. Petesch).

Grand champion ribbons for gaming event went: pole bending — Katie Vader, and A. Thiel; Figure 8 — M. Anderson; Flag — A. Heigel, and A. Thie); Barrels — A. Heigel, and M. Anderson; and keyhole — A. Heigel, A. Thiel.
