Manufactured by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston-Salem, N.C., this “George Washington CUT PLUG” Tobacco Tin was donated to the museum by Katherine Anderson.

The tobacco and tin were purchased by Conrad Rath at H.A. French’s store in Porthill, Idaho. Conrad lived in Porthill from 1914 to September 1923 when has passed away.

This style of tobacco container was often used as a lunch box.
