Kootenai Heart Clinics to continue Bonners Ferry services

| June 4, 2020 1:00 AM

While Kootenai Heart Clinics will be closing its Spokane locations by Aug. 31, it will be keeping its clinic and services in Bonners Ferry open.

The move to reduce significant operational losses will affect all three cardiology offices in Spokane as well as outreach offices in Washington. It will be maintaining services in Idaho, including Bonners Ferry.

Kootenai Heart Clinics will continue to provide comprehensive cardiology services in North Idaho. This will include Kootenai Heart Clinics main practice location in Coeur d’Alene, cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, advanced heart disease management, and vascular surgery.

It will also continue offering outreach clinics and services in Bonners Ferry, Clarkston, Cottonwood, Grangeville, Lewiston, Moscow, Orofino, Post Falls, Sandpoint, and St. Maries.

“This was a difficult decision,” said Jon Ness, CEO of Kootenai Health, which has owned Kootenai Heart Clinics since 2012. “Kootenai Heart Clinics is one of the largest and most respected cardiology practices in the Northwest due to its outstanding cardiologists and exceptional staff. Given our current practice model, however, we were unable to overcome the financial challenges. I fully anticipate these providers will continue to practice in the community under a different business model.”
