| June 4, 2020 1:00 AM

BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry Farmers Market vendors and community members have something to celebrate this coming Saturday, June 6.

The Farmers Market will be 40 years old.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. visitors to the market will be met with live acoustic guitar music by Ralph Walker, cake, cookies, drinks and prize drawings throughout the day.

The Bonners Ferry Farmers Market is one of the oldest Idaho farmers markets in the state,” said Kate Painter of the University of Idaho Extension Office. “It started in 1980 by Ben Studer, the extension agent at the time.”

Also planned for this Saturday’s festivities will be a tribute to recognize Marsha Semar who was at the very first farmers market opening and who was a former market manager for about 15 years.
