100 Years Ago
It was unanimously agreed to proceed with the incorporation of what will be known as the Boundary County Fair Association, with $10,000 capital stock divided into shares of $10 each. A committee composed of F.A. Shultis, O.C. Wilson, and H.L Shively.
There is a movement afoot among the stores of Bonners Ferry to open at seven o’clock in the morning and close at five o’clock in the evening during the summer months.
It is understood that the city council will, in the near future, order the construction of cement walks in front of the Casey Hotel and complete the cement walks on Main Street.
50 Years Ago
Fern Cox has been re-elected Northern Lights director.
Mary Yeoumans has won a statewide Knights of Pythias poster contest.
Seventeen year old Jimmy Tucker is injured when a 30-30 rifle accidentally discharged. The bullet ricocheted and struck the youth three times – in the left arm, right wrist and right thigh. All the wounds were described as flesh wounds and young Tucker was reported to be in good condition.

Boundary County property values escalated an average of 20-25 percent within the last year.
BFHS graduates braved the wind on their way to facing a “Brave New World” Saturday, saying good-bye to high school and hello to adulthood.
More than $2 million has been used to upgrade the Boundary County Airport over the past three years.
