100 Years Ago

Several robberies were committed Sunday night or early yesterday morning when thieves entered the New Variety Store, the Seattle Café, the Pastime Cigar Store, and R. Draves Harness Shop. Marshal Worley has not been able to find any clue to the identity of the person or persons responsible.

Yesterday at the noonday meeting of the directors of the Kootenai Valley Commercial Club, it was decided to proceed at once to hold a bond election for the purpose of construction a municipal electric light system.

The Lantern Café has hosted a grand opening. The new café will feature a full menu from morning until night. Specialties will include: steaks from the broaster and tasty homemade biscuits with pan-fried gravy.

The group in favor of paving the South Hill has submitted a petition with enough signatures to allow the project to move forward.

The plan to extend the airport runway has drawn comments both good and bad.
