Valley View Elementary School Newsletter

| March 12, 2020 1:00 AM

Valley View Elementary School (VVES) is having a wonderful early spring and enjoying the warmer weather. We are planning many memorable educational field trips, preparing for ISAT testing, and challenging students academically and socially.

Every month at VVES we celebrate a different character trait and highlight students and staff. The month of January we celebrated fairness and the students were, Aayla Maclin, Brielle Vargas, Samarah Fodge, Ava Copeland, Madalyn Dinning, Braxtyn Nisson, Hailey Spain, Lucas Adams-George, Landon Fuller, Kaylee Stolley, Kaelan Rode, Couper Hart, Libby Smith, Sean Richards, James Cook, Jayci Spencer, Olivia Chavira, Alex Stolley, Mrs. Maria Everhart, and Mrs. Tomi Bateman. Please congratulate these students and staff that always seem to be fair.

The month of February we celebrated caring, and the students were, Malia Yocom, Sterling Johnson, Illicia Aitken, Jackson Runyan, Zackary Faulconer, Gabrielle Mashburn, Canyon Mitchell, Nytlee Miller, Reilly Sullivan, Daisy Williams, Cole Allen, Gracie Stanley, Trinity Sanborn, Zander Fuller, Noah Miller, Callie Bateman, Madisen Faulconer, Serena Ledbetter, Mrs. Ashley McIntosh, and Mrs. Jennifer Leuty. Please congratulate these caring individuals when you can.

In addition to focusing on a different character trait every month we at VVES also write PAWs to highlight students. A blue PAW is from an adult to a student recognizing them for good behavior, and a grey PAW is from one to student to another student. For the month of February the school nearly set a new record with 1,238 PAWs given out. That is amazing and I thank all of the students and staff for going out of their way and writing a positive note to someone near them. Great job Valley View!

VVES just celebrated Dr. Seuss Week and had a fantastic time doing so. A special thanks to our librarian, Mrs. Julie Colson and a few helpers Mrs. DJ Cartwright-Kissee, and Kristi Miller for all their support, dedication, and hard work with organizing the week. Thank you to all of our students and staff that participated this week and made learning fun!

Please note that VVES is always looking for substitute teachers and volunteers in the school. If you are interested please don’t hesitate to go to the district office and fill out the necessary paperwork.

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone for all their support of our great staff and hard-working students. It is a pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful community that values our students and the educational process as a whole. Also, since a few people have asked me lately, Teacher Appreciation Week is approaching and this year it is May 4-7 if you would like to give a “thank you” to an educator in the district.
