Driver’s License Office closed until April 1

| March 19, 2020 1:00 AM

Beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020 the Driver’s License Office will be closed until April 1, to protect our employees and the public from any potential contractions of the Coronavirus. We will re-address this need on March 30 and determine at that time if the situation warrants additional time.

ITD has issued 90- day extensions on expiring credentials and encouraging the public to use their online services.

The 90-day extensions apply to regular driver’s licenses only. If your driver’s license expired or is expiring between March 1 and May 31 of 2020, you will have until June 30 2020 to renew. Commercial drivers, however, do not fall into this 90-day extension and will still have to be seen at your local office.

Boundary County Driver’s License Office will be making appointments for commercial drivers to facilitate your renewal needs.

If you need to renew your commercial drivers license you will need to call 208-267-3151 extension 204 to make your appointment.

Driver’s license online services is located at: http://itd.idaho.gov/itddmv

In addition:

We will be extending expirations on concealed weapons permits that are expiring within this closer time frame. New concealed weapons permits will be accepted after the closure is lifted.

Visitation for inmates currently incarcerated within the Boundary County Jail is also suspended until further notice.

Fingerprinting for non-criminal applications is also suspended until further notice.

With our current Nationwide situation being so fluid we will keep you posted on any additions to this as the needs arise.

Thank you for your understanding in this critical situation.
