100 Years Ago

Friday afternoon of this week will be Patron’s Day at the Bonners Ferry schools. The second one of the term, and all patrons and everyone interested in school work in any part of the county, are invited to attend.

Clark Collins, U.S. Customs Inspector at Eastport, was in town and reports that the government has just built a high fence along the International Boundary line which will prevent so much passing from and into Canada by those persons desirous of evading officers.

50 Years Ago

Nick Plato has been nominated to replace the County Commissioner post vacated by the late John Leonard.

Dale Dirks and Jim Wedel announced plans for a drive-in and café on the South Hill.

The Jaycees have elected Bob Bosworth as President.

15 Years Ago

The Randall Day Building, located at the corner of Main and Kootenai, will be the future site of an artists’ gallery, slated for an opening Spring 2006.

Twenty BFHS senior boys will compete on Saturday, March 26, for the title of Mr. BFHS.

Bonners Ferry fell to Lake City’s junior varsity on March 14, losing 1-0, but the Badger boys’ baseball team put in a good performance.
