This fun artifact is an ink blotter from the First National Bank on the corner of Kootenai and Main streets. Ink blotters were printed every month for several years and given to bank patrons. Each day had an insightful “thought.”

This one was printed in the Bonners Ferry Herald Print Shop on July 24, 1961, and was handed out in the month of August. The bank ordered 1,400 ink blotters at a cost of $27! The Museum has quite the collection of these blotters. You may have some tucked in your desk drawers!
