FFA Plant Sale is Friday at high school
BONNERS FERRY — Warmer weather and the days of spring mean it is time for the annual Future Farmers of America (FFA) Plant Sale.
Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live and living to serve, the motto of the Future Farmers of America is something that the local chapter strives to achieve.
Chapters raise funding through their events, such as the annual plant sale, to help with the organization’s goals of preparing members for leadership positions, personal growth, and career success in agriculture.
This Friday, May 8, Bonners Ferry High School (BFHS) agriculture education students will be selling a variety of plants grown in the BFHS greenhouse located on the northeast side of the high school, below the softball field and across from the agricultural shop.
All proceeds from the plant sales will directly support and benefit the local FFA chapter at BFHS.
Gerbera daisies, Coleus, Geraniums, Petunias, peppers, tomatoes, and decorative hanging baskets are just a few of the items that will be available during the sale.
The community supports the FFA in a variety of ways. The County Fair, where FFA members sell their project animals at auction, and through other fundraising events such as the Harvest Auction, wreath sales, caroling event, and plant sale ... to name a few.
