Suppiger is the right pick for District 1 seat

In the upcoming primary election for the House of Representatives, we have the opportunity to choose a pragmatic Republican to represent all of our great North Idaho’s constituents. Gary Suppiger is my choice for this vital position.

As a math teacher for 23 years at SMS, I had the opportunity to get to know Gary and witness his drive as a volunteer coach for the Sagle math club. For 17 years he has helped our local youth kindle their love for mathematics and learning. As the math coach for the SMS Mathcounts club, I have been the direct beneficiary of continuing the math coaching for the 6th graders Gary has mentored these many years. The students Gary coached have been able to compete in local, regional and even state math competitions at the secondary level. During the many years I have known Gary, I have witnessed his drive. He is a task master who achieves what he sets out to do in all his endeavors. His kids, Gerhart, Maddi, and Caroline, are a direct reflection of who their father is. Like Gary, they are smart, capable, and intentional in their choices and actions.

We have been fortunate enough to have Gary Suppiger serving on our local school board for the past 3 years, where he has proven himself to be a practical leader who listens to the public he represents, and who asks the hard questions about budgetary considerations.
