When the Ruby Motel cleaned its “cabin rooms,” a shower floor mat was placed in the bathrooms for the next guest to use. This paper floor mat has been framed for display in the Boundary County Museum.

In 1943, Alfred and Anna Stonklift constructed a motel on the South Hill. They named it after their daughter, “Ruby.” Ruby Maxfield, a well-known school teacher, lived in the motel for 67 years. She passed away in 2010 at the age of 94.
When the “cabin rooms” were cleaned, a shower floor mat was placed in the bathrooms for the next guest to use. This paper floor mat has been framed for display in the Boundary County Museum.
The motel stood at the site of Dr. Geyman’s office, next to the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
