True advocacy for people with disabilities

During this year’s legislative session, I worked with Sen. Jim Woodward regarding state rules and regulations around employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities and Jim was there for me every step of the way. I could always count on Jim to help me navigate the legislative arena to best help the people I serve.

This year, in large part due to Jim, Senate Bill 1330 was passed protecting the rights of people with disabilities to choose where they work. Jim was a fierce advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves and represented this group of individuals and their families with dignity and respect. All of us here at Panhandle Special Needs are so thankful for his leadership and dedication and thanks to his persistence the employment programs we offer here at Panhandle Special Needs have been secured.
