BONNERS FERRY — All three of Boundary County’s state legislators won re-election to the Idaho State Legislature on Tuesday night.

Despite heavy campaigning from a handful of challengers, none of Boundary County's three state representatives had to sweat it out on Election Night. All three legislators captured at least two-thirds of the votes district-wide.

Republican state senator Jim Woodward handily beat Democrat challenger Vera Gadman, garnering a commanding 77.4% of the 28,982 votes cast and earning his second term in the Idaho State Senate.

In the District 1A race, Republican state representative Heather Scott won a slightly closer race, although still comfortably beating Democrat challenger Gail Bolin with 68% of the vote to secure a fourth term in the Idaho State House.

Incumbent Republican state representative Sage Dixon won re-election to a fourth term in the Idaho State House, taking 71.4% of the vote and easily fending off Democrat challenger Stephen F. Howlett and write-in candidate Dan Rose.

In Boundary County, all three legislators proved even more popular. Woodward, Scott and Dixon all received at least 75% of the vote in Boundary County, well above their district-wide results.
