BONNERS FERRY — Boundary County Middle School has announced its citizens of the month for the months of September and October. At BCMS, each month a specific character trait is emphasized, with those who best showcase that trait recognized for doing so.

“Many thanks to the BCMS students, staff and parents for their commitment to our school community,” said BCMS principal Kevin Dinning in a press release. “I am grateful to be part of this educational community.”

September’s focus trait was “Respect”, and students Peyton Hinthorn, Segio Ramirez-Hernandez, Stryder Liermann and Sydney Hinthorn were recognized along with Mr. Jake Garrison.

“Responsibility” was the character trait of the month in October, and Callie Bateman, Trinn Hinze, Amanda Koehn and Val Sorenson were all recognized for showcasing exemplary responsibility throughout the month.

In addition to recognizing its citizens of the month, BCMS also announced that during the week of Veterans Day, the school put on its BCMS Penny War and raised over $1,000 to be donated to a local veterans’ organization.

“Many thanks to our leadership students for facilitating this event,” Dinning said. “And many thanks to our school community for coming together to support a great cause.”
