Janice Pfaff Frederickson, 80
On Oct. 12, 2020, Janice Pfaff Frederickson, 80, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, peacefully left this world to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, in her heavenly home.
Jan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She held an unwavering faith in God and enjoyed sharing her faith with others. She dedicated much of her life to covering her family in prayer, and being generous and kind to those around her. She was always available to lend a helping hand.
Janice was born in Downers Grove, Ill., on Jan. 23, 1940, to Elaine and Edwin Pfaff. Jan attended Downers Grove High School and worked as a switchboard operator. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Wilbur Frederickson. They started a family shortly thereafter, and moved to Bonners Ferry in 1968.
In her younger years, she enjoyed being involved in an archery club and hunting with Wilbur. They spent their lives together serving in various capacities at Mt. Hall Community Church, running Bonners Ferry Garbage Company, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
She loved her Lord and Savior wholeheartedly, and loved God's word. She prayed fervently for others and never lost hope in tomorrow. Her prayers and caring spirit will impact many lives for years to come. She may have been petite in stature, but she was mighty in willpower and strength. She was known to be feisty and tenacious at times, with a witty sense of humor and authentically bold spirit.
She adored her dog, Sonny, greatly appreciating his company by her side. Jan had a sweet tooth, enjoying her favorites: fudge, angel food cake, and divinity at holidays. Her grandchildren always knew where to go for candy!
Janice is survived by her son, Ron Frederickson (Cheryle); daughter Rae Lynn Frederickson Porter (Ralph); son Kevin Frederickson (Becky); son Eric Frederickson (Lynette); grandchildren Joshua Riese, Shawn Frederickson (Casey), Katie Kreis (Jeff), Bryce Frederickson (Samantha), Brent Frederickson, Kaprice Frederickson (Josh), Audrey Smith (James), Kortny Hampton (Vince); 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilbur Frederickson; infant daughter, Connie Frederickson; mother Elaine Pfaff; and father Edwin Pfaff.
The family would like to extend appreciation to caretaker and companion, Ron Berry, for being by her side for the last years of her life. Jan's dream of traveling to Hawaii was fulfilled during her 80th birthday in January, where she and Ron spent 10 days on Maui enjoying sunshine and ocean breezes.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Mt. Hall Community Church.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but find comfort in knowing she is in the arms of Jesus.
