Community honors Idaho Top Scholars Program students

| October 29, 2020 1:00 AM

Every year, the principals of Region 1 get to honor the junior students of North Idaho who have achieved a place in the top ten percent of their class.

A celebratory dinner and ceremony, normally held in Coeur d'Alene in the spring, was not held due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

"We want to make sure these top scholars still are able to be honored and congratulated," Boundary County School District officials said in a press release. "These students are not only exceptionally hard working and talented academically, but they are well-rounded, outstanding people."

Many of the students are involved in multiple extracurriculars while balancing Advanced Placement and college classes.

"They show tremendous amounts of dedication and effort in their day-to-day decision making and work ethic," BCSD officials said. "We applaud them for their current success and look forward to witnessing all that they are going to accomplish with their futures. Please join us in celebrating the top ten percent of the 2021 graduating class.

Being honored are Holly Ansley, Ian Beazer, Lily Blackmore, Anna Bliss, Regina Claphan, Ella Huggins, Tyler Lucas, Madison McIntyre, Marianne Pinkerton, Jillian Robbins, Morgan Swanson, and Daniel Walker.
