Removal of sign needed in community

I have lived most of my life in Bonners Ferry and when Donald Trump was elected I had hoped that he would follow in the path of previous Republican presidents, and would try to be a positive influence in this country. We were all sadly disappointed.

A year or so ago, I saw people in Bonners Ferry driving their pickup trucks with a confederate battle flag, and it now appears that this same group of uneducated individuals that chose to honor those who would have destroyed our country, have embraced the authoritarian leadership that Trump has come to represent. They have erected a presumptuous highway sign saying "Welcome to Trump Country." We are reminded of the "Brown Shirts" of the Nazi era that were enthusiastic followers of Hitler and would do anything to get Hitler elected.

The people of Bonners Ferry who believe we should maintain democracy in our republic should have the sign removed.
