The night shift at the sawmill of Bonners Ferry Lumber Company plant was taken off Sunday. They planned to continue the shift the entire season, but have not been able to secure sufficient men to run the shift.
Bonners Ferry High School is not only one of the few accredited high schools of Idaho, but has also been taken into the Northwest Assoc. of Secondary Schools and Colleges.
The annual picnic and Labor Day celebration of the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen was held yesterday at the City Park.
A.D. Askervold has the contract for building the new teacherage for the Curley Creek School.

The State Highway Board has withdrawn bypass funds and is instead looking at alternate routes.
High winds and a terrific downpour last Monday evening raised havoc at a number of spots in Boundary County, and the lightning that accompanied the storm set two fires – both of which were controlled and doused soon thereafter.
The City Council has approved plans for paving the South Hill. The portion to be paved is from Madison Street south to Harrison Street.

The Better Boundary County Coalition is sponsoring the third annual Community Breakfast this year on September 10.
In schools throughout Boundary County on Tuesday, laughter filled hallways empty for three months. Students were glad to be back in school.
The Badgers scored a field goal with a minute left to grasp an 8-6 win over Lakeland.
