Task force needs to take stance on abortion

| September 17, 2020 1:00 AM

As the primary promoters of our city's new vision statement, the Boundary County Humans Rights Task Force prides itself on being a voice for the underrepresented. It often boasts of promoting love, acceptance, and inclusion of all.

If this group were truly what it claims to be, we could expect it to advocate for the most silenced, vulnerable class of people among us, the unborn. At the time of this writing more than 27,000,000 humans in the world have been silenced by those more powerful than themselves since the beginning of this year, and the official position of “the task force” is silence.

Any group that claims to advocate for human rights and yet has no official position concerning the violent destruction of unborn humans in the womb has no working conscience. I think that it is high time that they state their position regarding abortion. If they have neither the moral conscience nor courage to state their position, perhaps they are not truly advocating for human rights but rather human wrongs and should simply disband.

Anyone who wishes to lecture us on human rights and equality yet refuses to state their position regarding the slaughter of the unborn is hypocritical and has forfeited their right to be taken seriously by honest people.

The greatest enemies of true righteousness are those who feign themselves to be righteous in order to conceal their evil; those who advocate for wrong in the name of “rights” and promote hatred in the name of “love.”
