Elton Roth Sr., 82

| September 24, 2020 1:00 AM

Elton Roth Sr., known by many as Al, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at the age of 82.

He was preceded by his parents, Frederick and Martha Roth; his wife, Karolyn Roth; and his brother, Jerome Roth.

He is survived by his five children, Marti (Larry) McNutt, Elton Roth Jr., Fred (Kendy) Roth, Lynnette (Larry) York, and Julie (Preston) Ruark; 27 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Al spent three years serving his country in the Marine Corps from 1956 through 1959. He was stationed in Oceanside, Calif., where he met his wife, Lynn. Al and Lynn raised their five children in San Jose, Calif. In 1977 the family moved to Washington state. In 2016, Al moved to Naples, Idaho, where he spent the remainder of his days.

He loved his family and his friends very much and would do anything he could to help them with whatever they might need. Al had a great sense of humor. He had a sign on the wall that said “Don’t take life so seriously, you’ll never get out of it alive” … that was Al.

He did take some things seriously though, one of those was his relationship with his God. He trusted Jesus with his life and his eternity. We will miss you Al/Dad/Papa/Old Papa but are confident that we will see you again.
