Tickets on sale for DYW program

| April 15, 2021 1:00 AM

Bonners Ferry’s Distinguished Young Women Program is excited to welcome Idaho state’s current Distinguished Young Woman, Camille Neuder, as the emcee for the upcoming April 24 program.

Camille was chosen as the 2020 representative of the Sandpoint DYW program last March and was chosen to represent the Idaho state program in October of 2020. Camille is excited to continue her DYW journey with the next step of participating in the national finals, being held virtually, this June. In the fall, Camille will attend Colorado School of Mines to pursue environmental engineering with a focus on renewable energy.

Camille would like to thank the remarkable volunteers who make this program so special, and thank the Bonners Ferry committee for the opportunity to be a part of their program. She would also like to remind the participants competing in the 2021-22 Bonners Ferry DYW program that, although only one representative can be chosen, each one of them is already a Distinguished Young Woman and will continue on to wonderful things as long as they remember that being your best self, means staying true to yourself.

The local Distinguished Young Women committee is grateful to Camille for taking the time to host this year’s program, and welcomes her to Bonners Ferry. Tickets for this year’s show are currently on sale for $12 at Mountain Mike’s Health Food Store. All seating is reserved, and tickets sell out fast.

Founded in 1958, Distinguished Young Women is a free program that encourages participants to reach their full individual potential. Its mission is to empower young women by providing over $1 billion in scholarship opportunities, developing their self-confidence and participating in our Life Skills Workshops that prepare them for success after high school. National sponsors include Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation, Mobile County, City of Mobile, Alabama Power Foundation, Master Boat Builders, Encore Rehabilitation, Shoe Station, Gant Travel Management, Wellington and Bonnie Coffeen, Regions Financial Corporation, Jostens and Alabama Media Group.

The participant chosen as this year’s Distinguished Young Woman of Bonners Ferry will represent the community at the state competition in Idaho Falls in October. Should she win there, she will represent Idaho in the national finals to be held in June 2022.
