Gervasi eludes police, faces multiple narcotics charges

On July 28, Joshua Gervasi was served with a Boundary County warrant after being arrested and booked in the Bonner County Jail, with a $250,000 bail set.
Gervasi faces eight charges that include trafficking methamphetamine and heroin, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Along with the mentioned charges, Gervasi currently faces other active cases against him. A preliminary hearing on Aug. 11 for grand theft and fleeing law enforcement and sentencing for aggravated assault scheduled for Oct. 10,
On June 16, Gervasi fled from law enforcement and abandoned his vehicle, holding large amounts of narcotics, weapons and stolen items.
According to court records, Gervasi was actively sought after by the U.S. Marshals Greater Idaho Taskforce on June 16 for a burglary in Bonner County.
The task force assigned to apprehend Gervasi received a tip from an informant about his whereabouts and identified a white Chevrolet truck as his vehicle near Upper Park River Road.
Coeur d'Alene Police Officer Eric Boardman spotted a truck on Highway 95 that matched the one Gervasi drove. The truck was spotted later abandoned at a residence Gervasi stated to have been seen.
Initially, officers believed Gervasi was hiding in the house and requested a search warrant but later determined he fled in the woods and could not locate him.
A search warrant was issued for the vehicle to Boundary County Sheriffs officers Caleb Watts and Travis Stolley, who searched the vehicle’s contents. Bonner County Detectives Ted Swanstrom and Chad Vogt helped in the search warrant due to Gervasi’s burglary on Caribou Creek Road in Bonner County.
The burglary victims positively identified their stolen items from their residence, including a Springfield .45, power tools, an ax, collectible coins, surveillance cameras, toolboxes, camping equipment, and jewelry.
The items identified were given back to the victims with the gun taken by Bonner County as evidence. Items not claimed by the victims included seven cellphones, multiple watches, a “Last of the Mohicans” book, power tools, a Honda generator and many other items.
“Also found during the search was over a pound of illegal drugs including methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana,” Boundary County Sheriff Dave Kramer said.
During Watts and Stolley’s search, they located a purple bag with ammunition can containing 17.8 ounces of methamphetamine, 6 grams of marijuana, cocaine and psychedelics.
According to the Idaho State Police analysis report, officers confiscated 413.4 grams of methamphetamine, 25 grams of solid heroin, 10 doses of lysergic acid diethylamide, 3.7 grams of Dimethyltryptamine and 1.2 grams of cocaine.
According to Kramer, the drugs seized were worth an estimated $54,000.
