Police seek community help with ongoing investigation

BONNERS FERRY — On Aug. 6, 2021, the Bonners Ferry Police Department, with the assistance of the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Thomas Edward Dyott, a 63-year-old of Bonners Ferry, pursuant to a felony warrant issued in a Boundary County case that charged Dyott with once count of a lewd act with a minor child.

The charge resulted from an ongoing investigation by the Bonners Ferry police. Thomas “Eddie Dyott has provided in-home child care in the Bonners Ferry community for nearly 20 years. The victim in the case is a child that was entrusted to his care.

Law enforcement is asking for the assistance of the community to identify if there may be additional victims. BFPD requests that anyone with information contact Assistant Chief Marty Ryan at (208) 267-2412.
