| August 10, 2021 11:01 AM

From his birth on Oct. 21, 1942, Mike Joseph brought adventure, peace, and love in great abundance to our world. Mike passed from this earth on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 7, 2021. We will miss him forever.

Mike married his love, Joni Turner, in 1966. The fruits of his marriage with Joni continue to grow in the lives of their sons Joshua and Mike and their granddaughters Telyn and Mariah. This remarkable man leaves behind his sisters Carol and Kap and his brother Jim. His nieces and nephews are inspired by his example of living life fully.

Mike’s courage and adventurous spirit led him down some amazing paths. Always seeking excitement and achievement, Mike joined the 101st Airborne Division in the Army, parachuting over and over into the day and the night. Mike gleefully embraced snowboarding after years as a daredevil downhill skier. He took delight in breeding horses and raising chickens. A special love of his was backwoods horseback adventure camping with Joni.

Among several occupations, Mike was known in our area as a craftsman and carpenter. In the winter, many of us will find warmth and joy in the shelters he built. Mike shaped the future as he passed on this trade to his sons and his brother Jim.

Life was made brighter by Mike as he made each day the most fun it could be. From dancing with his sweetheart at every chance to tapping his feet to music at the end, Mike bounced his way through life and brought the rest of us along with him.

Mike was full of love. He loved family, friends, animals, nature, and God. Always ready to help anyone at any time, Mike could be counted on by friends and strangers. His love will forever be with those who knew him.

Mike sought peace. Loudly laughing, softly speaking, and kindhearted, Mike inspired us to take a breath and more fully experience life around us. He has now found that peace forever.
