Pollution forecast, caution issued for Boundary County

BONNERS FERRY — The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air pollution forecast and caution to notify residents of Boundary County of degraded air quality.
Due to wildfire smoke, health impacts may occur, burning restrictions are in effect. Air quality is currently in the unhealthy category and is forecast to deteriorate into unhealthy to very unhealthy categories.
Most of the impacts are from local wildfires and will likely intermittently improve and worsen over the forecast period. The pollutant of concern is fine particulate matter (PM2.5).
