David Eugene Garner, 79

| August 24, 2021 9:45 AM

David Eugene Garner (Gene, John), 79, Moyie Springs, Idaho, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 peacefully at home with his family.

David was born in North Carolina to Robah and Julia Garner in 1941. He wandered the country and his boots led him to Goldendale, Wash., in 1973 where he met the love of his life, Diana, aka “Sunshine.” They were married April 13, 1973.

Ramblin John and Sunshine adventured around the U.S. 19 times, enjoying everything they could together. In the 1980s the girls came along, and John and Sunshine settled down. They moved to Moyie Springs and bought the land where they raised their kids and grandkids and lived to this day.

David’s passion in life was old cars and trucks. He was always “wheelin and dealin” and dragging them home. David’s heart was as big as they come and he would give the shirt of his back to a stranger. He loved his Sunshine and his kids and grandkids more than everything.

David was preceded in death by Robah and Julia Garner, Jeanine Rose Garner, Joseph Daniel Webster and Timmothy Eugene Jones.

David was survived by his loving wife, Diana Lorraine Garner; his children, David Eugene Garner II, Jennifer Rennee Beuchner, Julia Faith Stuber, Chastity Jean Webster; grandchildren, David Eugene Garner III, Ashley Sheeler, Amber Fowler, Gracie Lyne Adams, Solomon Ryan Shelly, Cathan Alexander Shelly, Aidan Dianne Webster, PFC Austen Indiana Jones, Emily Aletha Webster, Evellyhn Virginnia Lorraine Stuber, Aaron Dominic Stuber (Deuce), Rylee David Webster, Blake Owen Webster, Bentley James Webster, Angus Samuel Jameson Stuber (Heavy); great-grandkids, Jaykob Ryan Shelly, and Rayna Jay Catt. He is also survived by sons-in-law, Ronald Michael Beuchner, Aaron Dominic Stuber, and Dennis James Webster.

Viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison St. Services for David will be held at Bridgeway Assembly of God in Bonners Ferry at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, with a reception to follow.
