Bonners Ferry’s Labor Day celebration held under the auspices of the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen and the Women’s Community Club was successful beyond the expectations of those who planned the amusements of the day. It is estimated that between 500 and 600 people enjoyed the picnic and celebration carried out at the fairgrounds Monday afternoon.
Mr. Daufau has been quite successful in the growing of tobacco on his ranch near Porthill and has a crop of 300 pounds grown on about a quarter of an acre of land.
Several articles of jewelry were found this week under the sidewalk between the Ray Heathershaw house and the Union Church by two boys.
The High School of Independent School District No. 4 has 120 students enrolled.

Jaycee members plan to pour 92 yards of concrete this Saturday starting at 8 a.m. at the fairground site of the Outdoor Recreation Pavilion.
Varsity BFHS football players have been having some rough workouts this week preparing themselves for the first game, Saturday, August 28, 5:30 p.m. at Sandpoint.
Two prisoners escaped through the fire exit at the Boundary County jail about 10 p.m. Friday.

About 20 people showed up on Aug. 15 to celebrate the designation of the Selkirk Loop as an All American Road, an honor given to commemorate roads that meet the criteria of being a “destination unto itself.”
The coaches and athletes at Bonners Ferry High School will see things in a whole new light thanks to the Badger Booster Club. The club raised money to help install new lights at Kenny Mendenhall Stadium.
Rosalie Hatfield is the Boundary County Artist of the Month.
