Badger girls beat North Idaho Christian 52-21
HAYDEN — The Bonners Ferry Badgers jumped out to a 30-10 lead at half-time in route to the girls basketball team beating North Idaho Christian 52-21 for the second time in non-league play.
Asha Abubakari led the Badgers with 20 points, making eight of 10 free throws to go along with 10 rebounds.
Kaylee Sumpter added 10 points making five of nine field goal attempts and grabbed seven rebounds.
Markynn Pluid continued her solid play with eight points, six rebounds and six steals. Avery Bayer also had six steals in addition to her five points and three assists.
Braylyn Bayer also filled up the stat sheet with seven points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists.
“Our interior passing was definitely a highlight of the game,” said head coach Travis Hinthorn. “It led to some easy baskets inside.”
The last time these two played, Bonners Ferry won 45-16. The Badgers stole the ball left and right totaling 22 steals. As a team the Badgers rebounded 47, were 50% from the free throw line, but were only 33% for shooting.

The Badgers currently have a record of 4-2 and play Lincoln County High School from Eureka, Mont., Wednesday night and host the Lumberjacks of St. Maries on Saturday.
