Special use permits approved
BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry City Council unanimously approved two special use permits to allow two new businesses in areas currently zoned residential.
One special use permit was for the historic Mahoney House to be used as professional office space. James Robinson, the applicant, said he is moving his business from a downtown location since his business is online based and has only had three customers physically walk in his store.
The other business is a one-chair hair salon with a waiting area. The proposed structure is 320 square feet and requires two parking stalls. It will be on the corner of Canyon and Kaniksu streets.
The next city council meeting is scheduled for Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 7232 Main St.
